Meet Lighthouse AI: ask anything about your product and users, find what needs attention, and draft what comes next, right inside your panel. Lighthouse answers in plain language with numbers, charts, and lists computed from your project's data: which guides lose users mid-way, how a segment's retention is trending, what your NPS replies are really saying.
Lighthouse also drafts the segments, content, and materials you need. Tell it to create a segment, a Knowledge Base article, or a Product Updates post, and it prepares an unpublished draft for your review. Nothing goes live without you. Your panel permissions apply to everything Lighthouse does, and every AI-generated write lands in the Activity Log.
Conversations are saved as threads you can share with teammates, and the built-in Question Bank shows everything Lighthouse can answer, so you are never guessing what to ask. Pin the answers you want to keep close. Lighthouse AI is in Beta for now. You will find it in the left sidebar of your panel.

Our MCP Server launched in March with 17 tools. It now has 58, covering nearly every part of your project: analyze feature adoption and retention, pull guide step funnels, look up a material's performance by name, manage Knowledge Base articles, publish Product Updates posts, and approve or reject feature requests, all from Claude, Cursor, or ChatGPT.
Connecting moved to OAuth: sign in through your browser and approve exactly the permissions your assistant should have. EU accounts are now served from a dedicated EU MCP server, keeping data in region.
Your Mixpanel cohorts can now sync into UserGuiding automatically via webhook. Build a cohort in Mixpanel, and target it with guides, surveys, and segments in UserGuiding, no CSV exports needed.
You can now add tables to Knowledge Base articles and Product Updates posts. Pricing comparisons, feature matrices, and structured data finally have a proper home in your help content.
Your Feature Requests inbox no longer needs checking by hand. When end users submit new requests, you get notified in your daily update email, which also includes survey replies and your Knowledge Base and Product Updates reviews. Review a request, approve the listing, or add it to your roadmap while the context is fresh.
You now decide whether comments appear on your Public Roadmap and Feature Request cards. A new Commenting setting lets you display or hide them per project, right below the Voting controls.
The Impact Reports feature will be sunset at the end of October. Everything it offered, and more, continues to live in UserGuiding through other features: your dashboard analytics, weekly digest emails, and now Lighthouse AI, which can answer the same questions on demand.

Product Updates is now two-way. Your end users can submit feature requests, vote on ideas, and follow what you are building, all inside the same page they already use for your changelog. A user asks, others vote it up, you move it onto the roadmap, and when it ships it becomes a Product Updates post. Request to release, one surface.
At Product Updates β Feature Requests, users submit a request with a title and description, vote, and sort by most votes, newest, or trending. Nothing goes public on its own. New submissions land in the Inbox first, where you can, Approve a Listing and Add to Roadmap
The Public Roadmap is a kanban board on your Product Updates page, configured at Product Updates where you can control Status columns, Categories and Vote Count Visibility.
Drag cards between columns to move an item along, and click into a card to review votes and moderate comments. Titles, statuses and categories are all translatable. Available on Growth and above.

Checklists and Resource Centers can now be localized, joining Guides, Hotspots, Banners and Surveys. Every in-app material type is now covered, so a multi-language product no longer has monolingual gaps in the middle of it.
Pull survey responses straight into your AI tools. The MCP Server gained a survey responses tool, so assistants like Claude, Cursor or ChatGPT can read and analyze your survey data in the same session as everything else in your project.
Useful when you want to cross-reference who answered a survey against segments, events, or guide interactions without exporting anything by hand.
Your custom domain configuration is no longer a silent setting. Changes and resets to Knowledge Base and Product Updates custom domains are written to Team Activity Logs, and you get notified if a domain is reset. If your help center or changelog is served on your own domain, you now have a record of who changed what and when.
Hotspots gained three appearance controls. The tooltip placement behavior relative to the beacon is improved, you can replace the default beacon with your own image with its own dimensions, and add a pointing arrow so it is obvious which element the tooltip belongs to.

Your help center can now answer questions in plain language. Ask AI turns your Knowledge Base into a conversational assistant, so visitors get direct answers instead of digging through articles.
It pulls from your existing KB content, so there's nothing new to maintain. Answers are grounded in your articles, with links back to the source so users can keep reading if they want the full context.
Available across your KB pages and the in-app widget. Works with localized content, so your Spanish visitors get Spanish answers and your French visitors get French ones.
UserGuiding now connects to Slack as a proper app, with per-channel notification routing. Send guide alerts to one channel, survey responses to another and KB feedback to a third. No more single-firehose webhooks.
Setup takes a minute: install the app, pick the events you care about, and route each one to the right channel. Works with all the notification types we already supported (Digest, Activity, Custom Alerts), but now scoped per channel instead of per workspace.
Important: The legacy webhook integration is being retired on May 25. If you're using it, switch to the new Slack app before then to keep notifications flowing.
Make changes to a guide without pushing everything live. Selective Publish lets you choose which steps, branches, or modifications to ship, while keeping the rest in draft.
Useful when you're iterating on one part of a flow but don't want unfinished work going to production. Edit freely, test locally, and publish only what's ready. The rest stays in your drafts until you say so.
Banners now support full localization, so you can run the same campaign across regions without spinning up duplicates. Write your banner once, add translations for each language you support, and UserGuiding will serve the right version based on the visitor's locale.
Works with all banner types and pairs with AI Auto Translate if you want a head start on translations.
Highlight important info inside KB articles with callout blocks. Use them for warnings, tips, notes, or anything you want readers to actually notice instead of skim past.
Five styles available (Info, Tip, Warning, Important, Note), each with its own color. Drop them into any article from the editor toolbar.

Watch exactly how users interact with your onboarding. Full session recordings capture page navigations, clicks, scroll depth, rage clicks, and errors.
Your dashboard tells you what is happening. Session Replay shows you why. Spot where users drop off, identify frustration points, and understand the real experience behind your numbers.
Save smart collections of sessions into Playlists with flexible filters: duration, browser, rage clicks, errors, user segment, and more. You're in full control of privacy with configurable masking levels, sample rates, page targeting, and audience settings.
Connect AI assistants like Claude, Cursor, or ChatGPT directly to your UserGuiding project data using the MCP Server.
Manage users, search by attributes or events, track events, and create or update Knowledge Base articles, all through natural language. 17 tools available, HTTPS-only, project-scoped, and using the same rate limits as the public API.
Head to Settings β MCP & API Key to grab your key and get started.
Track user interactions on your site without writing any code. Using the UserGuiding Chrome Extension, you can visually select any element, pick an interaction type, and start tracking instantly.
Four track types are supported: Click, Hover, Focus, and Input Filled. You also get Page View Events, which fire automatically when users visit URLs matching your rules. Set up URL match conditions like Equals, Contains, Starts With, or Ends With and let the SDK handle the rest.
All events work with segments, goals, and analytics, so you can use them across targeting, reporting, and A/B testing without any developer involvement.
Stay on top of your onboarding performance without checking the dashboard. Configure exactly how and when you get notified via Email, Slack, or the new Panel Notification Center.
Digest (Weekly): Performance summary with week-over-week comparisons for users, interactions, and material views.
Activity (Daily): New survey responses, product updates reactions, and KB reactions. Only sent when there's new data.
Custom Alerts: Set policies for Guides and Surveys. Get notified when materials aren't started, aren't completed, or when target elements aren't found. Scope to all materials or a specific one, with unlimited policies.

Turn survey responses into actionable insights automatically. Stop spending hours analyzing open-text responses. AI Insights reads through your survey replies and delivers clear summaries, identifies patterns, and provides recommendationsβall in seconds.
What You Get:
Localize your content instantly. Translate your Knowledge Base articles and Product Updates posts into any language with a single click. No more manual translation workflowsβjust click, translate, and publish.
Export AI Assistant conversation data as CSV files. Choose your timeframe and include custom attributes to get exactly the data you need for reporting or analysis.
Get richer context in your survey notifications. Include custom user attributes alongside response detailsβknow exactly who responded without leaving Slack.
Upload custom icons for your Knowledge Base categories to match your brand and help users navigate your help content more intuitively.
New methods to programmatically control Resource Center navigation: open specific groups, checklists, rich text modules, KB articles, PU posts, and switch between KB and PU tabs.

'Other' Option for Multiple Selection Questions
You are now able to add an 'other' option to multiple selection questions. When respondents select the 'other' option, it transforms into an input field, allowing them to provide custom text responses. This enhancement adds a new level of flexibility and depth to your survey data collection, enabling you to gather more nuanced insights and better understand the diverse perspectives of your audience.
Individual Response Deletion
With the ability to delete individual survey responses, you now have full control over your survey data, allowing you to remove specific responses as needed. Whether it's correcting errors, ensuring data accuracy, or respecting respondent privacy, this feature empowers you to maintain the integrity of your survey results with ease.
Customizable Modal Height for Multiple Selection Questions
Another highly-requested enhancement: the ability to adjust modal heights for multiple selection type questions. Now, you can customize the height of your survey modals to eliminate the need for unnecessary scrolling, providing a smoother and more seamless survey experience for your respondents. Whether you prefer a compact layout or need to accommodate longer lists of options, this feature puts you in control, ensuring that your surveys look and feel just right.
Question Texts Included in CSV Exports
Exported CSV files of responses now include not only question numbers but also question texts. This enhancement provides greater clarity and context to your survey data, making it easier to analyze and interpret responses. With question texts directly integrated into your CSV exports, you'll have all the information you need at your fingertips to gain valuable insights and make data-driven decisions with confidence.
Exciting news! We've upgraded our HubSpot integration to offer two-way data synchronization between UserGuiding and HubSpot. With the addition of "UserGuiding as a Destination" option, you can now seamlessly exchange data in both directions. This enhanced integration allows you to send UserGuiding data to your HubSpot account and enrich your UserGuiding insights by pulling user attribute and event data directly from HubSpot. This bidirectional flow unlocks new possibilities for optimizing engagement, refining segmentation, and personalizing experiences. Learn all about our HubSpot integration!
We've rolled out a powerful new feature that gives you greater control over your data: the ability to separate company-level data from user-level data. With this enhancement, you'll have the flexibility to manage and analyze your data more efficiently, allowing you to focus on the insights that matter most to your business. By segregating company-level data, you can now streamline your data management processes and gain deeper insights into the collective behavior of your end-users at the organizational level.
But that's not all! We're also introducing the ability to utilize company-level data for filtering and listing companies directly on the Users page under 'All Companies', and by clicking on a Company, you can see its details and users within that company. With the option to save these lists as company segments, you'll have the power to track company-specific metrics, and drive meaningful outcomes for your business. Learn more about the Company Page here!
Introducing the ability to filter end-users based on their interactions with Hotspots. With this enhancement, you gain greater visibility into user engagement, allowing for precise segmentation and targeting based on Hotspot interactions. Additionally, leverage Hotspot interaction data to create highly targeted user segments directly within our platform, empowering personalized user experiences tailored to individual needs and behaviors. Remember; personalized user experiences tailored to the unique needs and behaviors of your audience are always better than one-size-fits-all approaches!

We've refined the Surveys feature to include descriptive labels for scale points. Now, you can add clear descriptions to survey scales, such as labeling '0' as "Not Likely" and '10' as "Most Likely". This small change can make a big difference in how respondents understand and engage with your surveys. Clearer scales can significantly increase the reliability of survey data, helping businesses make more informed decisions based on precise customer feedback.
Dive deeper into your survey data with our new date-filtering feature on Survey Dashboards. Analyze responses based on specific timeframes to gain better insights and make more informed decisions. This feature is crucial for understanding trends and patterns over time in user feedback.
Exporting survey responses just got more powerful. Choose the additional user attributes you need in your report, tailoring the data export to your specific analysis requirements. This enhancement means more personalized and relevant data at your fingertips.

We're thrilled to announce a new dimension to our integration with Segment: setting UserGuiding as the data destination. This significant update enables UserGuiding users to send user attribute and event data directly from Segment to UserGuiding, enhancing data flow and user insights.
This enhancement not only streamlines your data analysis and monitoring but also empowers you to provide highly personalized experiences with ease. Looking ahead to 2024, we're excited to expand our "UserGuiding as the data destination" capabilities with more platforms, paving the way for even richer integrations and user data utilization.
In the latest enhancement to our Analytics Dashboard, we're introducing a feature that truly brings user interactions into focus. Imagine clicking on a graph that shows how your guides and resources are performing and instantly seeing a detailed list of specific users who've engaged with them.
This isn't just about numbers; it's about understanding the stories behind those numbers. Each click, view, and completion tells you something about your users, helping you tailor your content with precision. This update is all about bringing you closer to the real people behind the stats, making your UserGuiding strategies even more impactful and human-centered.
Our latest feature, auto-triggered material prioritization, adds a new layer of sophistication to how content is managed within your app. It's designed to resolve the complexity that arises when multiple pieces of content are set to trigger on the same page for the same audience. Let's delve into a detailed scenario to illustrate its effectiveness:
Imagine your app's dashboard, where a new user lands. You've set up a 'Product Tour Guide' to automatically launch, introducing the core features. Simultaneously, there's a 'User Feedback Survey' set to trigger, gathering initial impressions. Without prioritization, these could clash or overwhelm the user.
With our new feature, you can assign a 'high' priority to the 'Product Tour Guide', ensuring it's the first interaction your new user has, providing a smooth onboarding experience. Following this, the 'User Feedback Survey', tagged as a 'medium' priority, will appear, capturing timely and relevant user impressions right after they've explored your app.
Building on our auto-triggered material prioritization, Rate Limiting further refines how content reaches your users. While prioritization lets you control the order of appearance for multiple content types, Rate Limiting manages how often they appear. This feature ensures that users aren't immediately bombarded with another after engaging with one prioritized material, maintaining a balanced and pleasant user experience. It's the perfect complement to prioritization, ensuring each user interaction is impactful yet unintrusive, giving your audience the right content at the right time and frequency.
This thoughtful approach to content delivery is essential for maintaining a balance between user engagement and user comfort, making every interaction count without overwhelming your audience.
For more details on implementing Rate Limiting, check out the UserGuiding Help Center.
UserGuiding is dedicated to ensuring our platform is accessible to all users. We've taken significant steps towards complying with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). This commitment means we're actively working to make our content more accessible, ensuring it can be used and appreciated by people with a wide range of abilities. This move towards WCAG compliance is not just about adhering to standards, but it's a part of our core belief in creating an inclusive digital environment for everyone.
