The time has come and we’re happy to announce that our great-looking, all-new Chrome Extension is here. Accompanying our new Panel design released earlier this year, our new Extension design system is not just about the looks. Along with it, also come many UX improvements that will give you a much smoother & much more consistent and intuitive feel.
And the fun doesn’t stop there. With the new Extension, we’re also presenting you some cool new features. Read all about them below!
Go visit your UserGuiding Account and have a look at the new Extension and tell us what you think through this form.
We have been hearing a lot from you about the ability to change where a tooltip displays in relation to the element it’s pointing at. While we’re still keeping our old experience where tooltip is automatically placed in a safe place within the display area of the end-user, you now also have the option to set a custom placement to place your tooltip where you desire and keep your page UI as neat and tidy as possible.
Another improvement with our tooltips is that you are now able to change the color of the box border around the element the tooltip is highlighting. This will give your flows a more native-like feeling by enabling them to better blend in with your page UI. Set your color from Themes now. You don’t want a lot of color and eye-catching going on your page? That’s also fine because from now on, you have the ability to turn on/off the highlight box around the targeted element as well.
We know how much you like using our pre-made templates while you’re creating new content, but we also know that their looks have been getting kind of old-fashioned lately. So with many changes, some very flashy and some very subtle, we are now offering our templates with all-new look and content.
You have been asking for a variety of capabilities to connect our interface widget actions to trigger other events and actions within your platform. Now on your Guides & Hotspots, you can put a JavaScript code snippet in a Custom Button action and get your users to take in-app actions or trigger other 3rd party tools or widgets.
You know how some tasks you want your users to complete as part of a Checklist journey are very simple and straightforward. So simple that you think creating a guide just for that is not even necessary. Well, now you can add an item to your Checklist and set a page URL to it, and when your user clicks on that item, instead of seeing an unnecessary guide, they’ll just be redirected to that page where a simple task is waiting to be completed.
